The story goes like this,

When Shahrukh Khan went to the changing room to visit his players, his children went downstairs on the ground, while they were waiting for the actor to join them. When Shahrukh glanced from the balcony, the security officials were manhandling his kids – Aryan and Suhana. “We all know that the officials at the cricket ground are arrogant”, commented the actor. The kids were supposedly playing on the sides and should never have been a problem with the security guards. By the time Shahrukh Khan rushed downstairs, a team of security guards surrounded him, while some of them were swearing at the kids.

He also adds, “one of the security officials was actually pushing my daughter, thrashing her out of the ground”. The tiff began when the actor retaliated.

While we think it is awful to treat children this way, do we also consider celebrities to be soft targets? Or is Shahrukh Khan too spoilt to obey rules? Whatever the case is, time will tell….

Shahrukh Khan is yet to comment on the whole issue, however our sources claim that he was provoked by a series of communal comments about him. MCA, an authority that administers the Wankhade Stadium in Mumbai, states that SRK tried to work his way on the grounds, immediately after the match. When he was prevented from entering the grounds, he got abusive and pushed people around him. A while ago, King Khan met his team in Mumbai and is expected to address the press later today. According to the KKR professionals, the incident was provoked, contrary to the reports submitted by MCA. It is reported that the actor got upset when the security officials manhandled his children – Aryan & Suhana. His son, Aryan Khan, wanted to play on the sidelines with his classmates and was prevented from entering the stadium.

While a few are busy poking fun at the whole incident, Shahrukh Khan fans have voiced their support for the actor on Twitter, one of the popular micro-blogging sites.

According to the onlookers, the two seemed to be the best of buddies. Zarine Khan confirms, “We are the best of friends. I love spending time with him. In fact, I like being with kids and playing with them”. She also added, “they relax you instantly with their love and enthusiasm. People tell me that I will make a fabulous mother.”

According to Wardha Nadiadwala, Zarine is Subhan’s girlfriend. She happily confirms that she can leave her son with Zarine for hours and they are sure to have a fab time together.

Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone is trying to brush up her Hindi skills for “Jism 2″, and the makers are impressed with her speed and dedication.

What happened? A city daily carried a morphed Twitter image that showed a nude Poonam Pandey standing with a framed photo of a Hindu God or Goddess (with Sachin Tendulkar’s face morphed on it) and a Pakistani player bowing to it. The photo triggered the protests in the Park Circus area of Kolkata. The image allegedly hurt the religious sentiments of the people, who came on the roads and stalled the traffic for up to six hours on Tuesday evening in the Bengal capital.

Police has controlled the situation, while CM Mamata Banerjee has urged the people to maintain peace and requested them to not get provoked. In the appeal she says, “Some people provoked by political influence are trying to create problems in the city. I urge them not to fall to such provocation and ask them to maintain peace and harmony.”

The publication office has already published an apology.

Meanwhile, the twitter addict Poonam Pandey has expressed shock and disgust over the incident. “I am really Shocked and Hurt over the incident in Kolkata, A fan-made stupid morphed pic of mine was published by mistake on a News Paper….TweetHrts & all my Fans round d World i do appreciate ur Love towards me but such edited/Morphed pix really hurt me,” writes Poonam.

But that’s what is happening now. A recent episode of Ekta Kapoor’s “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain” saw its protagonists, essayed by seasoned actors Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar, getting more up, close and personal than most family audiences could digest.

It was the consummation scene – where the 40-plus rich hero took his marriage of convenience to a different level by showering his 30-plus middle-class wife with love and passion.

Aesthetically shot, the March 12 episode of the show, produced by “The Dirty Picture” maker Ekta Kapoor, took some audience members by surprise.

There’s nothing wrong with boldness on the tube, say industry experts.

“There are two kinds of audiences on television — one is the kind who sit together and watch family shows, and the other is a very niche audience that is open to watching intimacy and homosexuality on small screen,” TV director Waseem Sabir told.

“Intimacy has always been there on television, but it’s important for it to be shot aesthetically,” added Sabir, who has worked on shows like “Maryaada”, “Saat Phere” and “India Calling”.

The lovemaking scene in “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain” was backed by a tantalising trailer, which drew the required hype and interest in the episode.

But boldness isn’t new to the small screen – be it through rain or drawing up the sheets or the dimming of the lights – directors have used different techniques to hint at physical intimacy in shows in the past.

In the 1990s, some went a step further in shows like “Tara”, “Banegi Apni Baat”, “Kurukshetra”, “Hasratein” and “Justajoo”, in which the telly viewers got to see liplocks and seduction.

The trend went off radar with the advent of family shows a la “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” and “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki”, which made premarital sex and extramarital affairs out to be taboo.

Purnendu Shekhar, writer of “Balika Vadhu”, says with the kind of awareness young viewers have, it’s time producers got mature with their scripts.

“We need to get mature at some point. Society is going through a change, the values are changing. People today have a more urban thinking due to a lot of media exposure. This change is inevitable and it is a natural process of life,” Shekhar told.

“There’s nothing wrong if it is shown on television, especially if the script demands it. However, people should make sure not to go overboard as television is a family medium.”

Director Ravindra Gautam, who directed earlier episodes of “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain”, says “audiences have now opened up and parents don’t feel shy watching romantic scenes on screen with young children”.

But some viewers are worried.

“I usually watch the show with my husband and kids. But for this episode, I didn’t know where to look or what to do,” said Amrita Mehta, a housewife.

Another viewer, Kavita Sarin, a mother of two, said: “We can exercise a bit of restraint on what our kids watch when it comes to the big screen, but if family shows like this start showing intimacy, it gets difficult to keep kids away. It is weird to ask them to leave the room or change the channel.”
