Movie Review : Kismat Konnection

Do you really beleive in luck, destiny, ummm kismat? This is what the movie is all about. It comes under those feel-good films shot in amazing locations of Canada. The surprising thing is that the hero in the film bumps into every other hindi speaking person in Canada. Whatever happened to the French population of Quebec!

Anyways, the film starts with Raj Malhotra( a Shahrukh name to begin with). Raj(Shahid Kapoor) is a university topper but doesnt seem to have a job. No projects on hand either. Then comes Priya(Vidhya Balan) and things happen to change. He sees an advertisement about a psychic reader named Haseena Bano played by Juhi Chawla. After meeting the reader, he awaits his lucky charm and realises that Priya is his lucky charm.

Somewhat similar to Lage Raho Munnabhai, Priya runs a senior home and Raj has his first project on the same site as the senior home. Problem number two starts when Raj realises that Priya is already dating someone else! Meanwhile, he also figures it out that he is in love with Priya. The end of the movie is extremely predictable!

As far as the performances go, Shahid has tried his best to emote Amitabh Bachchan and is good to an extent. Vidhya Balan is natural as usual and Om Puri is amazing as always. Vishal Malhotra is a good friend in the movie with Juhi supporting it pretty well. The music by Pritam is widely appreciated. Fabulous cinematography and good direction. Leaving the rest to the Kismat of the film…
