Mumbai Salsa is a film that depicts the modernization that has crept into the younger generations of the nation. It is a saga that shows the changes in the Indian culture. Well what is this life if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare…In the present society, its all about money. It seems as if the world understands only one language - MONEY.
“Mumbai Salsa” is a name of a pub located in the heart of this metropolitan city. The story of the film revolves around this place. Today’s life involves extensive work throughout the day and then the youth finds it distressing to go out pubbing after busy days of work. This film shows the same reality. The characters of this film spend the whole day at work and then end up spending their nights at this pub;adding some spice into their lives.Looking forward to the characters in this film:-
Rajiv Sharma (Veerdas) is an advertising executive who happens to be romantic by nature but never clicks into a permanant relationship. He experiences an apprehensive approach when it comes to dealing with the opposite sex. Finally he meets his lady love.
Karan (Indranil Sengupta) is a merchant banker and he is a happy character of the film. He is shown as a flirt and can never be serious with any relationship.
Subramaniyam (Dilip Thadekar) works in the same advertising company as Rajiv and this fellow seems to be conventional. He is the one that appears to be preserving his cultural values by default.
Shahji (Raymond Irani) is a gym instructor in the film and Maya (Manjari Fernandes) is a human resouces head in a leading bank of the city. Maya is a true perfectionist.
Everyone seeks for perfection in their own way, Neha (Amruta Khanwilkar) is a beauty salon owner. She looks at life with an entertaining perspective and sees herself as an extremely hardworking entity. Alike Maya, all the other females in the film seek stability in life and there is one more charater called Pamela (Linda Arsenio). Linda is in love with India and most importantly- Indians. She has come to India in search of her love.
Neelam Chauhan runs a Salsa dance class and her parents have separated from the time she was very young and those haunting childhood memories keep disturning her. She wants someone in her life who can love her to the fullest. Will she ever find him?
All these above mentioned characters keep bumping into each other in this pub called “Mumbai Salsa”. They all have different questions and each of the question has an apparently different solution. To conclude with, this film is supposedly modern, potrays the emerging pub culture and exposes the realities of a life in a busy city like Mumbai.
