Preview RGVs Aag - Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag

Finally the much talked about film called “Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag” (RGV’s Aag) is on the verge to go public. This specific Ram Gopal Verma film was initially supposed to be the remake of the super hit classic Sholay and was primarily called “Ram Gopal Verma” ki Sholay, however due to legal disputes it was renamed to AAG. Despite the remake, Ram Gopal Verma has been successful in adding his own magic formula to produce another blockbuster. The characters are pretty much in sync to the characters in the old Sholay.

Babban in RGV ki AagFor an instance, Gabbar Singh becomes the very modern Babban Singh who pretty much believes in chopping fingers than the hands itself. Jai and Veeru are replaced by Ajay Devgan as Heero and Prashant Raj as Raj Ranade. The film is shot in the vicinities around Mumbai and thence, Basanti becomes Ghunghroo played by Nisha Kothari. And the interesting turn here is that Ghanno the horse is replaced by Laila, the rickshaw.

There is a lot of footage given to the merciless Babban Singh and once again Amitabh Bachchan seems to have outdone himself. Yet again, he plays a role that is going to be a feather in his hits.

RGV ki AagTo support the star cast, Sushmita Sen plays the character played by Jaya Bachchan in the original version of Sholay. She portrays the character of a well trained nurse called Durga and is always clad in black with the anger clearly visible in her eyes. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal plays the very important character of Narsimha that initiates the whole plot of the movie. Yashpal Yadav plays the character of Soorma and ends up adding light moments to the movie. A major look out for the film would be the item number by Urmila. She is the one that heats the screen with her item numbers.

Finally, Ram Gopal Verma has come up with his own interpretation of the old Sholay with uncertain twists within the movie. With all the entertaining ingredients in the film, this one would surely be worth its price!
