ShahRukh has hurt me a lot: Manoj Kumar
Shahrukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om is in news again with yet another controversy. Previously it was in news due to the fact that Shahrukh Khan wanted to kill the competition between the films that are released this Diwali. Sanjay Leela Bhansali alleged him for negative publicity and this time the person who is hurt by the film is none other than the 70’s superstar “Manoj Kumar“.
As per Manoj Kumar in an interview, he commented that Shahrukh has really hurt his feelings and there is nothing more important than that. Om Shanti Om is a film shot in the 70′ s.There is a scene in the movie where Shahrukh and Shreyas procure the passes of Manoj Kumar and make an entry in one of the premiere shows. Consequently when Manoj Kumar appears for the film, the security refuses to identify him and starts beating him with a stick. According to the senior star’s interview he said, “I wasn’t so unknown in the 70’s that security guards couldn’t recognize him and would start beating him up”.
He was also spotted saying that he doesn’t appreciate this kind of film-making and it was clearly a plot made to insult him. He also condemned the scene in which Shahrukh was drunk in the film and gave a filmfare appreciation speech as if he was Manoj Kumar. He added that he is a peace loving person and didn’t wish to get into any sort of feud with the present stars. Just that he shouldn’t be made fun of after staying in the same industry for more than 50 years. He isn’t angry with Farah Khan as much as he is with Shahrukh. He also chuckled that he would have also given a guest appearance for the film if required.
