Bollywood Movie Releasing in 2012

2011 was a good year as far as Bollywood releases were concerned. There was a selection of biopic, adult comedies, and experimental films. 2012 is filled with a lot of action, with a lot of action-masala flicks and sequels lined up for release. Amongst all the big releases in 2012, the following bollywood movies are likely to rock the year. Here is a list of upcoming bollywood movies in 2012

PLAYERS (Releasing January 6th, 2012)
A remake of the Hollywood film “Italian Job”. A multi-starrer thriller, directed by Abbas-Mustan. Players starring Abhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and others will hit the theares on January 6, making it the first release of 2012.


KAHAANI (Releasing 20th January, 2012)
The film is somewhat inspired by Kill Bill, the Hollywood blockbuster that was directed by Quentin Tarantino. After the sucess of The Dirty Picture, Vidya Balan would be back to create silver screen magic with Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani. The film will see the actor play the character of a pregnant woman in search of her missing husband. Out of all the latest bollywood movies, this one will be worth the wait.

AGNEEPATH (Releasing 26th January, 2012)
Directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar, the film is adopted from the legendary hit “Agneepath” starring Amitabh Bachchan. The film hits the theatres on Republic Day. From the previews, the film comes across as a complete masala flick and Katrina Kaif’s Chikni Chameli item number is already making waves. This is coming across as one of the most awaited bollywood movies of 2012.

EK MAIN AUR EKK TU (Releasing 10th February, 2012)
After watching the promos, seems like the movie is largely inspired from the Hollywood flick “What Happens in Vegas”. Directed by Shakun Batra, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu tells the story of a couple, played by Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan, who accidentally get married after having a few drinks on Christmas eve. Will the marriage last? Watch out this space for more on the latest hindi movies.

HOUSEFULL 2 (Releasing 5th April, 2012)
Calender 2012 cannot be complete without certain sequels. Sajid Khan has encashed on the brand value of his successful film Houseful. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the comic caper pairs up Akshay Kumar with Asin Thottumkal. The film also stars Ritesh Deshmukh, Mithun Chakraborty, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Zarine Khan, among others. It is to be noted that Akshay Kumar hasn’t delivered a hit since a long time now.

ROWDY RATHORE (Releasing 15th June, 2012)
Directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, features Akshay Kumar in double role. The female lead is Sonakshi Sinha. Rowdy Rathore is based on the Telugu film Vikramarkudu. Amongst all new releases this year, there are a lot of expectations from this one.

BOL BACHCHAN (Releasing 6th July, 2012)
Rohit Shetty, who is riding high on the wave of Singham and Golmaal 3, directs an action-comedy film. It stars Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Asin and Prachi Desai. Again, one of the biggest bollywood releases of 2012.

RAAZ 3 (Releasing 31st Aug 2012)
Directed by Vikram Bhatt, Raaz 3 would be back in a new avatar, this time with Emraan Hashmi. With the success of Haunted and 1920, Vikram Bhatt has learnt the art of making a perfect horror mix.

RACE 2 (Releasing 30th November, 2012)
Another action thriller from Abbas-Mustan’s stable,  Race 2 is a sequel to the 2008 hit film, Race. The film stars Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Ameesha Patel.

DABANGG 2 (Releasing December 2012)
Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha would be back with the second installment of Dabangg in December 2012. Arbaaz Khan would replace Abhinav Kashyap as a director.
